I had a memorable weekend on the project in fact its carrying on for a couple more.
Friday night I transported my fuselage and wings to Rotherham, where a friend of mine has a large industrial unit with enough space for mating the wings.
Having levelled the fuse laterally and longitudinally, I set about checking the sweep.
I had 2 /16th inch forward sweep on both wings but with a little persuasion I got that back to 1/16th inch the plans allow up to ½ inch so I am happy with the sweep.
Next on to checking the triangulation, this was perfect to the mm
At this stage I was thinking that this is going all too easily but after checking the levels and sweep and triangulation again all was good!
I moved onto the incidence, I had bought a brand new spirit level and I taped the 3 inch block and smart level to it.
When I placed it on the wing I read 0.5 degree down on RH wing and 0.2 on the right after a little tweak with a jack and block of wood,
I had it to 0.00 on both wings no big deal; time to drill !
I checked for the 5/8th edge distance and again no issues
I had previously fabricated a drill bushing guide to keep the drill perpendicular to the spar stub so after drilling the hole in stages I finished off with a .3110 reamer.
That was that.

Sunday I got the flaps on push rods adjusted the push rods and dremelled out the flap hole.
The fun part was watching the flaps move up and down after I hooked up the motor to a battery.

Just got to sort out the ailerons and drill out for the wing faring before taking the wings off but that’s for tomorrow. Time for a beer !!
