Yep, I finally got to spend a little quality time with N624KJ this evening. It has been to long and it took a little while to get back in the flow of things.

I had managed to prime some gussets and other parts a couple of weeks ago and finally got them installed tonight.

The biggest step though, (pun intended) was getting the left step in place and all drilled and ready to go. (I know, I know, if I would of just built a TD I wouldn't have to worry about steps. )

Work is keeping me real busy but I'm going to try to find time here and there to get this thing moving. Here is a photo of the step.

I plan on waiting as long as possible before putting the shin whackers on permanently. I'm also planning to put left over pro-seal between the step and the fuselage to prevent moisture from entering and causing rust in that area from the step.

John, I would pro-seal them too!

Glad to see you are making progress!

I didn't get much done this past week, even though it was school vacation and I had the whole week off. Life has a way of getting in the way.

Why didn't you prime the step too? Sandblast and paint that sucker!

When I first got my steps installed, all the well-wishers that came by my shop would ask why the landing gear was so short!

Glad to hear you are making some head-way John.

I wasn't thinking about a doubler but am now going to make some this afternoon and add them. Great idea. Thanks!

CJ, never fear they will get cleaned up and primed and painted (on the backside anyway) before being put in place permanently.

Got side tracked with burning brush this afternoon but I did manage to get the right step drilled and ready and started on the doublers. Not a lot of progress but at least a little. :)
