Rolled the "Canoe"! Short video, too.

Post by BSwayze »

Well, at long last, I finally rolled the fuselage over for my RV-7A. This isn't a Hollywood quality production, but I'm fortunate to have a 26-second video of the milestone. Thanks to my son Daniel for the helping hand, and my daughter-in-law Andria for running the camera. And thanks to all my sons, Luke, Paul, and Daniel and Jamie's son Jesse for help with riveting over the last few weeks. The riveting sessions were often short and sporadic (everyone is so busy around here!) but we got 'er done!

Here's the YouTube video clip:

It's funny - somebody outside the homebuilt airplane world would look at that and think "So? What's the big deal?", while those of us "in the business" recognize a major milestone accomplished.

It is said that only one tenth of one percent of the population earns a private pilots license. A very small fraction of that pilot population embarks upon a project such as experimental amateur built - and an even smaller subset of that population gets this far with their kit before giving up - much less finishing it. We truly are in a small club.

Good job!

Building a 9A with too much fuel and too much engine - should drop dead any minute now.
