I go to see Bobby Pott's with my airplane tomorrow and I am sure he needs to know how I want my plane painted so here are my creations so far and I need to choose. Now I know they are not perfectly symetrical and all that...I used MS PAINT for goodness sake, give me a little wiggle room.

I'd go with #3, with one suggestion. I would duplicate what you did with the scheme for the fuse on the wheel pants. Maroon on top, cream/white on the bottom separated by the gold.
You should also consider reversing the colors in the scheme. Put the maroon on the bottom and the cream on top. I went to a forum at OSH when I was working on my scheme and having the dark color on the bottom was one thing I remember being mentioned. One thing it does is hide oil/dirt.
Remember also
1. Red pigments are the costly ones.
2. long lines stretch the look...and I think they need it.
3. Women usually have a good eye for this stuff, so Don't be afraid of the color comb ......(says the guy with a yellow/purple and lime green plane)
4. Listen to the painter, but you are the PIC. Grab a scrap panel or AL and shoot your combo then take it outside for the full effect.
5. wheel pants get beat up, go easy on the pattern to make repairs easier
6. This is most important..PREP is everything!
7. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
I like #4 , but with the colors reversed. The white should be on top and the red on the bottom, just to make the plane more visible. If someone is looking for you from above, it's easier to spot a white plane against the green and brown ground. Looking up for traffic, it's easier to spot a dark colored plane against the light sky. Just for your safety, I'd reverse the paint scheme. Either way, it looks great.
Yesterday I took the plane to Tuscaloosa, Al. and left it in the hands of Bobby Potts. My friend flew down with me in his 6A and brought me home. It was a fun trip of around 2hrs each way.
Anyway, here is the final plan that was accepted. It is basically #3 above with some tweaks to fix errors in my original and to tweak the colors to better represent the actual ones I picked out. Bobby also talked me out of the large tail numbers. I was on the fence with them anyway. My fear was that they would be too overbearing on the small RV. It is next to impossible to match what I picked out and every monitor is different so you will have to wait for the final real pictures to know what I picked out. I think it will turn out nice.
I got a couple status pics from last week. I am trying to force myself to leave my painter alone and let him do his job! These pics look scary! We spend years building out planes and trying not to scratch them and then the painters go at em like pissed off cats!
Looks like they figured out how to get her all apart!
They sure do look ugly all drenched in alodine!

Oh man...yeah, early paint booth status shots are hard to look at!! You'll be able to compare those pics at it's worst to the end result, and be THRILLED!!!
