Hello all!
So I'm finally at the point in the fuselage where the instructions call for completion of a "laundry list" of things to do before disassembling for debur/dimple/priming/riveting.
I have my own punch list of things to complete, but is there a specific "list" I'm missing somewhere in the plans/instructions? Does anybody have some good tips on things you missed, or things to look out for before I tear this whole thing apart?
Thanks!
Dave

Couple of items off the top of my head. The seat ribs will need to get a 5/8" hole for wire passes. Don't put the hole in the spot on the plans, since the control stick angle mounts to the spar carry through block the path of the wires. I had to redrill these down low just behind the large holes for the aileron control tubes. This location also matches well with the wire conduit location that Van's calls out on the wing plans.
The seat ribs also need to get the crotch strap brackets riveted before you put them on the bottom fuselage skin. Even getting a pop riveter down in there later is difficult. Consider also putting some standoffs for conduit down between the seat and baggage floor ribs.
Lots of photos and dialog on my web site link in the signature.

I remember that
Dave,
I remember being at that point, and not finding a "laundry list" anywhere. So what I did was take some time and study the drawings very carefully and make sure every item is taken care of. I learned the hard way, in the fuselage part of the kit, that not every detail is mentioned in the written instructions. Studying the drawings is time well spent.
I made some notes at that point in my build log about one such item I found... the gear leg weldments, on this page:
http://www.europa.com/~swayze/RV-7A/Fus ... 90525.html
Course, this pertains to the A model. If you're building a taildragger this specific detail won't apply to you, but there may be others. If you've followed the steps carefully and studied the drawings for all the detail work, you should be fine to proceed.
Good luck with the work... let us know how it turns out! This is an exciting time in the fuse project.

Thanks for the gouge, guys. I hadn't considered the conduit interference, so I laid out a couple extra fuse holes lined up with the wing conduit.
Bruce, I spent a bunch of time today going through the plans as you suggested...I added a half-page of things to my to-do list!

To do list
If I might add, you could also consider what modifications or additions you plan on making. For example, if you are going to put antenna under the baggage compartment it will be easier to address that now. After the fuselage is put together working inside the cockpit and baggage area will be more difficult.

Dave, I found my "laundry list"!
Really weird, what is a laundry list anyways? I am a single guy, I do my own laundry and never have I made a list! You married guys have got it made! No shopping, laundry or house cleaning to get in the way of RV building!!!
Hahaha, ok, now back on topic. Here is my list, I don' t recall what some of the notes mean, but if you can't figure it out... ask me!
Good luck!

Excellent list, John....muchos gracias!!
I saw in your list that you fitted the cover support angles that get riveted to the F-7101 gussets, and that you used Dan Checkoway's site as a reference. I was gonna put those off 'til later but it certainly makes sense to do them now if it's not too painful. I don't have a copy of Dan's site CD, any tips on how you installed those angles?
