Note: I step drilled the leading edge skin to counterbalance holes with a 3/32" bit, then a 1/8" bit and finally opened it up to a #30.
I did this for two reasons. One, so I wouldn't kill my #30. Two, if the bit wanders, you will still have room to open it up and make the hole clean.
Both things happened! The 3/32" bit got bent and dull, but is easily replaced at HFD and while drilling the center hole it did a significant amount of wobbling!
Good idea and I am glad I did it!
Now I need to gather my thoughts at the health club, take this stuff all apart, debur, dimple and prime! That should take most of the weekend!
