When you put it that way ...
Guess that I wasn't think of that as building as much as it was programming

No pressure.....ya right. I'm getting it from every angle lately.
I just got home from work, heading to the airport soon. Couple of last minute details to attend to. Then I'll sit in the seat for a bit to do a dry run in my head. IF...repeat IF I feel good and the butterfies settle down, I take her up. It's 30*F here and the wind is about 10kts right down the runway, so feels colder. Might be a good day to put an hour on a new motor....we'll see. I had a good briefing with my friend last night, so feel ready......
besides it's Veterans Day, it's about Freedom, isn't it? I'm a Vet, maybe I'll be Free today.

I like your analogy, it is more like programming after the build when they come out. LOL.
The most you are going to get to program a newborn is DOS.

I'm out....too much x-wind for me and my butterflies. I'll get it done when everything is right.

Don't let anyone put pressure on you , including yourself. You want the weather just right for the first flicght and you need to feel ready yourself! Days, weeks or even months are not as important as everyone including the pilot are ready
Spike the development and program of your other project takes many years past 18! Our oldest has a son in college and didnt get married until she was 28 but we find there is still some need for "programing and support" for her and her two younger siblings
They don't necessarily agree with us on that score.

here's a bad video of the first lift off.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zibhIAdyt2s
The numbers look good so far. 24" 2400(might have been 2500) 9.1gph was over 200mph. CHT's 311-350. Oil temp 177cruise 183 slow flight. stall 1/2 flap 54mph.
oh there is more but I can't think properly
