Good luck on the inspection and the weight and balance. Looks really great. I can't believe they will find andything wrong. We had a great trip to Devidls Lake and back yesterday. Ran short of time but found out Lance was in Bismarck anyhow. Our flight path took us right past his farm. It took a little less two hours going to Devils Lake but then circled the Lake to take pictures. Keft over roads or bare ground in case we lost the engine. We were groundspeed going up was 140 to 152mph according to GPS. Coming back groundspeed indicating 180 mph again according to GPS. It took 1.9 hours for return flight distance was 299 miles. Had a nice lunch with and old friend took pilot Dick out to see the Lake from the ground and Fort Totten.

You're more than welcome Brian!!
It does look fantastic out in the sun!!
BTW...that goes for anyone here on RB. If you have an idea for a paint scheme, and don't have the PS software, or don't want to mess with it, let me know. I enjoy working out the design "on paper"...I have 80+ designs of my own now...

Major disappointment day.
First off the FSDO doesn't seem fit to call me back. I faxed my W&B last week and no word if they got it. Called yesterday to set a appointment, no return calls. So today I was in the neighborhood and dropped in. I get the "oh I'm real busy, won't be this week. But maybe we can squeeze something in next week before I leave for Florida" AAaarrggh!
So I'm looking at 1-3weeks.
Oh well, I've got some things to do. Guess I'll finish the interior panels. got back to the Hangar and decided I wanted to redo the fuel sender calibration. I wasn't happy with the numbers last time and thought we had made a mistake. So redid it by myself today. 2 gallon error on the right tank, 4 gallons off on the left. I ran the Dynon last time while others added fuel and I knew mistakes were made. Anyway things looked pretty good......until I put the gas cap on the very full left tank. I was talking with a hangar neighbor and turned to siphon out 10+ gallons when I see multiple puddles forming under the wing root area.
quick grab the jugs and help me drain this gas. Big panic
1. pulled the root fairing off, no signs of wetness.
2. added 5gals , nothing, 5 more nothing. grabbed a mirror and papertowel for better look, added 5 more nothing..well HECK, lets top that baby off, nothing! put the cap on, nothing....
Come on there was fuel leaking out all over. stand around talking, tapping feet, wondering scratching....there it is a drip on the concrete, aft end at the spar area. but where's it coming from. the wing is dry. gotta be from the fuel line to the fuel valve. Drop the tail and climb inside, nope no leak at the valve. pull up the carpet and wetness.....vent line bulkhead fitting is only finger tight on the tubing running up the inside of the fuse. it took a completely full tank with the cap on to generate enough pressure to leak. WHAT A MORON! but crisis over for now.... whew I need a drink.

Awww, just fly the darn thing anyway, I wont tell
I think everyone should send you $10 so you can use the DAR. That close, to not fly for $400 would hurt. You are a patient man dude.
