my dad came over to lend hand in unloading the 200 pound boxes
wiley needed to make a preliminary check to tell me that i am going to make way too much noise, but he approves!
beautiful gold anodized spars!
and finally, i did get the new style wingtips!! i was really hoping for this, 'cuz i really like the look of them.

that's an understatement!! holy crap! i filled TWO 40 gal trash cans FULL last night! it does do its job though. i did have a damaged skins box, but nothing inside was hurt. aparently they dropped it at some point, 'cuz the plywood actually has a hole in it with wood chips and splinters inside the box. thank god for the paper!4kilo wrote:If you think there was a lot of paper packing in the empanage kit, just wait 'til you tear into this one!
Have fun,
Pat
i had planned on four including the driver. one couldn't make it, but it was no big deal whatsoever. my dad and i carried the spar box in without a problem (it IS heavy, but managable), and the skins box was put on a two wheel dolly. i pulled the dolly and my dad and the driver steady'd it. no NEED to have a wing arrival party, but it would be fun!smittysrv wrote:Cool! Congrats all around.
My slowbuild wings are on their way this week. Did you have any problems unloading with only 2 guys? I'm wondering how many warm bodies to invite over.
i should have made you come over to help and bring me the TWO beers you owe me!!

CONGRATS CHAD!!! Your pictures were a great help for wifey and I (she likes it when I call her that..no really she does!) to understand what the delivery process will be like!
How long did inventory take?!? ...and you know you loved every second of it!

hey peter! inventory took the afternoon of delivery and the following evening. i didn't keep real close track of time, but i would guess about 5 or 6 hours total. now, i did inventory the bags, but not what's inside them yet (there's a seperate sheet for that, just like the emp). i'm not worried about hardware. if something comes up short, i'll just order it when the time comes. i still have to organize the hardware in to my bins as well.
the afternoon it arrived, i opened the boxes, and took inventory on the skins, ailerons, flaps, and spars (this took longer than i anticipated). the next evening, my wife and i inventoried the rest of the stuff that could be brought in the house (too cold in the garage, according to her ). tedious.
just last night, i finally got it all organized (except the hardware), and i am planning on getting the spar prep started tonight. nothing like starting the wings by drilling in to the most expensive part of the kit!
