Headset Jack Location

I'm curious as to where most folks are installing their headset jacks. Many photos I've looked at show the jacks on the lower left and right corners of their panels. To me, this means the cords will be running across my thighs and possibly interfering with the control stick.

Any bright ideas for alternate locations of these jacks?

A great location is in the vertical post between the seats (jacks behind), or on top of the horizontal bar that runs just behind the seats (on top of the bar, between the seats). This way they are out of the way of everything forward of your shoulders.
