Alright, I can't take the pressure! You guys are meciless, okay, I'll talk!

I didn't want to say anything until serial number was firm in hand but hey, empanage is firm in hand. Purchased an unopened RV-7 empanage kit from Walter Tondu. It showed up this morning!

Now, If I can just finish the empanage from the first plane!

I wish I could keep both. The big lesson I learned building the -4 is always have something to fly. I had to beg borrow and steal flight time from my friends which is okay but...

I rented too. I'm going to hang onto the 4 as long as finances will allow. That may not be very long though. The plan is to sell the 4 when it's time to buy the engine and prop. I think I can scrimp enough through saving and not flying as much to buy the airframe kits as I go. I'll just have to play it by ear.

Begging, borrowing and stealing airplanes is what I do best!

So far this year, I have mooched about 42 hours!!! I DID have to pay for it one way or another, with beer, food or money somehow. Nevertheless, it keeps me in the air until the project is done!

If ya gotta sell the -4 Scott, you wil still find a way to fly and stay current.

Ideally, you know keeping it is for the rich and famous. Mebbe a partner or two???

Um....

Yeah, I had a partner in my Champ for a while. He was a good friend of mine (and still is...now). What I found is that for myself... well, I just can't do it. My partner didn't fly the plane to my standards, never cleaned it, wore those dang dirty tractor gloves when he flew it. I had to buy him back out.

I think I'd have the same problem with the RV-4.

I totally agree, you must have an airplane to fly while building. I have this kitfox, so far I've put over 170hrs this year, the last week I've put over 10hrs on her. I put a lot of hours in the shop and on the RV, sure is nice to run out after work and put an hour on the kitfox. Some people can make fun of my little kitty but I'm flying and it sure is fun.
