RV-7 QB kit is ordered "Good Trade"

Post by Rockyjs »

Hi to everyone. Yesterday I ordered an RV-7 QB from Vans. I received Preview plans in early August, and found an unopened tail kit at ATC. My kit number is 2646 (assumed from original purchaser circa Feb 2006). I'm going to ATC the 23rd of October and am just completing a hangar for the build. Interestingly enough, this RV 7 is a replacement for a 1964 Lincoln and a 1966 Mustang GT convertible that I lost in Hurricane Ivan in 2004. At least that's what I told my wife. I wanted to go SB for several reasons, but the hangar is 1 hour from my home each way, and it would be impossible to build where I live now. I've also flown professionally for 31 years so the biological clock is ticking way too fast. Therefore, I need to jump start the build and hopefully can complete the aircraft in about 2 years. I look forward to chatting with you all.
Thanks!

Welcome John, I just started my 7A slow build, it has really changed by free time for the better. I look forward to each time I get to work on the project, it's a great feeling.

No need to explain yourself. The QB route is an honerable way to build. You'll still have plenty of work to do. :) Welcome!

Welcome aboard Rocky! There is a great group of people here and I think you will enjoy the ride.

I'm building a 7A and just finishing the wings. Anxious to get started on the fuselage!

Have fun!
