Weight weight

Post by gramps »

Well it finally happened after all this time - I lost an airplane part. Icould really use it too. It's the rudder counter weight for my 7A.
I would REALLY rather not order a new one from Van's because I don't want to wait 10 days and pay more in shipping than the thing costs in the first place. So, I wonder if anyone has theirs handy and could tell me the dimensions or the weight of this unit. I'm going to pour my own, just need an idea of the size. I believe the elevator uses the same weights so that would work too.
Thanks fellas, and keep building

P.S. Saw an RV3 today with an open cockpit. Pretty sweet

Mine is from the old style rudder kit and it IS just like the ones in the old style elevator.

It weighs 838 grams and measures 1 3/4" by 4 3/8" and is a little better than 1/2" thick.

There, hows that for speed?

Wow! Thanks a bunch Capt. John - that's what I was looking for. Splendid response time. Appreciate it.
I know the field that topless -3 lives on and will try to get a pic of it for everybody. Heard that he's got a very non-stock O-360 in it. I'll wager that thing would rip your ears off with the throttle hammered.
YEE HAW! Gramps
