Glad to hear it Snap. When I first got my plans I kind of wondered what I was getting into. :? Once the first kit got here it all started to make much more sense. 8)

Yah... I am sooo glad I got the Emp Kit AND Preview Plans together!

The plans alone are somewhat daunting.

If I got JUST the PP, I may not have started!

It really ain't that bad.

Putting the parts in front of you really makes sense of the plans!

Okay, I'll confess on this issue. I know I posted on this earlier but here is my real story.

I actually ordered a preview set for the RV9A and when I got it and looked through it I decided it was a bigger task than I wanted to tackle. It just looked overwhelming. I sent them back. That was in March of 2005.

That summer Luke and I went to OshKosh and looked over many many airplanes. The RV was what I wanted after looking. Luke and I went to a seminar on building a metal airplane. After that it was all downhill, the seminar was just what we needed to give us the confidence to proceed. I ordered the empennage kit as soon as we got home even though the shop wasn't even close to ready. Finally got started in September of 2005.

The people we talked to at Osh and those who put on the metal workshop are the reason I decided to go ahead and do it. They all said the same thing "if you really want to do it, and have any mechanical ability, you can."

Several friends and neighbors think I'm nuts. That makes it even more fun!

Snap, your fun is just beginning! :)

This is what I love about RB. You don't see good hearted ribbing on the other site.

Also, congrats Snap on finally taking the first step and getting the prieview plans. Can hardly wait to see your first pics when you get your empennage. Have you checked into shipping cost to down under? Just curious.
