Rudder stiffeners

Post by prestwich »

I'm back! At least I was today. Hopefully it will be the start of renewed progress. Sheesh, have I spent a long time goofing off. I mean, uh, doing other important things. Spent the afternoon making the rudder stiffeners. Pics show a fixture I made to control the edge spacing. I cut the parts a little long and then popped them onto this tool to buff them into size. Nothing terribly exciting, but if feels good to be working again.

I think Pwich has a bunch of tools in his shop at work. Those that are there should be used for his plane only...If I'm remembering correctly...

Most of my airplane tools are at home, but I like to do the dirty fabrication stuff at work since there's so much more room, not to mention all the machines at my disposal. Just don't want anyone using my scotchbrite wheel for steel, or wearing a big groove in it.
