It looks so HUGE :o
compared to my 8's aft section :P

By the spring thaw you'll probably have to keep the Jeep outside :bang:

Yah, I get that alot. OH! You mean the tailcone! OK!

I told Thermos you would say that! I don't plan on keeping the JEEP outside until the time comes for setting wing incedence. That may happen at the airport, so the JEEP may have a permanent home inside al the time.

John, You WILL be there soon. It is remarkably simple to get to this point! Bill said the kit has gotten SIGNIFICANTLY easier to build since his -6 was done. Personally, I am thrilled with this product! Everything lined up really well! It doesn't take my real work to get this all assembled. It really does all cleco together!!!

I am cutting the stiffeners today. THOSE need to be DRILLED! ARGH!!! WORK!!!

That will wait for me to get back from Nantucket in the Chief this evening!

I made some progress on my tail today. I would have got more done today but I put the channels in without notching both ends and had to take them out, notch and reassemble everything. I didn't think the plans were real clear on that area. Here were I am currently.

I checked it with the plumb bobs to make sure it was square. I had trouble telling on the front but it may be off a 1/32 or so. All the holes line up well though so I'm afraid any attempt to adjust it would just cause problems. Any suggestions?

I need to take this tail section off and make some adjusting bends though. Here is a photo of it. Did you have to bend yours CJ?

This is a lot of fun putting these big parts together. :) Karla thought I got a lot done today. I didn't attempt to explain that most of the work has been done over the last month and just got assembled today.

John, yah... that beefy lower skin is going to require some additional massaging to get it right. YOUR TAILWHEEL MOUNT is missing!!!

I didn't do the plumb bob thing yet. I suppose it is too early. Besides, Wicked Stick has one of those "Smart Levels" and I plan on mooching that from him!

The plans are kinda vague on the J-Channel notches. I suppose it could be worse. Some people had to actually drill some of these holes!

Right Paul!?!

You old timers really DID have to walk to school up hill BOTH ways, huh!?!

I REALLY respect those that drilled all of this and had no pre-drilled holes. However, I don't envy them in the least.

Just had to go out and work a little more this evening. It appeared to be square enough so I drilled the J-channels. How's that saying go "I just want to go to Denver not the moon." Anyway, I worked on the tail cone and then drilled the channels.

One more step done! :)
