Fuselage is coming...

Post by cjensen »

I finally got a tracking number today from Van's. My fuselage kit is on it's way to me! It will be missing the top aft skin, but I won't need that for at least a year, I'm guessing...

Chad, NICE!

Yah, top aft skin... I haven't done anything with mine yet soooo...

I was to go pick up my finish kit today but I relapsed with the flu. Today I have been napping and checking in here and that's about it. The dog and I have spent most of the day curled up in front of the pellet stove!

I hope to get my kit tomorrow if I am felling well enough.

So Chad, when is the big day? Early next week?

I wondered if you were home today. You've been on almost everytime I have checked in (and that's A LOT!). I'm home today too. We had new carpet installed in the living room this morning.

Van's just shipped it (the fuse, not the carpet  ) this morning, and I haven't heard from ABF yet. It'll be mid-next week I'm sure.

I need to check my tracking number to see what it says.

Don't throw that paper away! Line your paint booth with the stuff!

WS, I am taking today too. Maybe Friday afternoon I will grab it? They are closed Saturday, don'tcha know...

They need 24 hours in order to schedule a delivery. I suppose that yesterday I should have said to bring it here. I was really hoping to be better today.

I'll take plenty of pics...that's a given! 8)

Rochester was cold and boring. We did eat at a GREAT restaurant called Prescott's. One of the BEST I've ever had, and I eat at A LOT of restaurants!

GOOD HUMOR CHAD! We say the same thing about Rochester up here! We fly there all the time but never actually land! ...just shoot the approaches and fly home. (OK sometimes we land for gas and cookies but usually don't stay long) They have a GREAT variety of approaches, VERY nice controllers and one of the only published full vector radar approaches in the area. Believe it or not, the controllers like to practice those to as they need to stay current just like we do!

Can you grit you teeth until the 25th Chad?!?

$606.14 to ship my finish kit, in case anyone was wondering. The crate is 8' x 4' by 28" tall.

I am still too sick to go pick it up but, Machine Man has offered to do it for me! The terminal is right around the corner from his shop. He will store it in there until I can pick it up this weekend! I hope that I feel better by then!

Chad, I have noticed a number of turbine engines on ebay and one Subaru while I have been home sick!

HA!

I gotta be honest, the PM's are what made me do the searches!

I think I am getting bored here all day. Nap, eat, blow my nose and repeat.

One thing I did make it to today was:

We want to bring the dog. He is such a big part of our lives and it is the best way to get him there without an airplane of our own.

It brings up an issue with accomodations then too. We need a pet friendly place to stay. He is well behaved and travels with us often so, I am not worried.

Sooooo, I gotta drive this year. Ah, that's okay I s'pose.

In all seriousness, stop frequently (~3 hours) and drink plenty of fluids.
You DONT want what happened to me last year to happen to you. Im still working through the resultant FAA medical process.
