Look all the way towards the tail...the seventh one from the end is number 10,000 (at least on my airplane). (don't look too hard, you can't see it in this pic...)
Rivet 10,000, Wow Chad, that's great ... the 10,000th rivet that is, I don't know about the part of keeping track that closely . Acutally, I think it's neat that you have kept track and know exactly how many are in each section. About 2/3 of the rivets installed, that must be quite a sense of accomplishment, way to go, looks great!
Womack2005 wrote:Chad, we were talking the other day here about how many rivets there are in a -7 kit. Do you have an approximate number for the whole kit?
No clue. BUT, we'll know when I'm done!!
I've heard anywhere from 14,000 to 17,000. So, I figure at this point, I'm ABOUT two thirds of the way done with riveting, and one third of the way done with the airplane.
Chad, looking great! You've caught up to me. Hopefully I wil be able to get back on task in the next few weeks. I thought the aft fuselage was a fun area to work on. You get a great bigh piece and it goes pretty fast. Now the center section is a litle different stoty! Lots of parts.

Ok, now you've done it, you put some negative thoughts on my brain with the 10000 rivits that I have put in so far. Hummmmmm... I guess I'll just have to get some positive things into my brain, going flying, see ya.

A few weeks ago, the subject of the amount of rivets I have installed over my career came up. Since i never really kept track, I had to take an educated guess based on various mods i have done and and estimate of the rivets used for each mod.
A conservative estimate not including the many extra overtime hours and day should put me in the million rivet club. No wonder I dont do very well on hearing tests! LOL

So is your OCD bad enough that if I count a few more rivets than you on mine a few years down the road, are you going to go back and try to find where you missed some?
