HS 710 hole
HS 710 hole
I was reviewing the difficulty people were having with the HS 710 hole. When I did mine, I came out with 2D spacing (1/4 inch) which I measured from the center of the hole to the edge. I noticed that I had no room to spare at all. Is that common? I would feel better if I had more spacing. Since I met the minimums, I moved on. What are your thoughts?
very common. if the spec is 2 d than its 2 d . dont get wrapped around the axle on this. always do the best you can or you will slip more and more and more. maintain a high standard of quality but know what the standard is. dont fall for the hype about its overbuilt so its ok. because if you do than its not overbuilt anymore. but trying to build an airplane that is perfect will cost you some extra parts. (trust me ,you'll buy some)
oh yeah to much edge distance is wasted material and will lift when riveted.
i have complained about vans engineering at times because if you debur and to much you will eat into that 2 d. he does cut it close at times. and you will also find some parts punched out to less than 2 d.
