engine mount type
engine mount type
It is getting time to order up another batch of goodies, specifically the finish and firewall forward kits. So I need to make a decision re engine and mount type. I want to use an O-360 with the hollow crank but for now set it up with fixed pitch prop but leave the door open if I choose/can afford a CS prop later. The question is which mount would need?? Any one been down this road? There are the Dynafocal ones, I think two types and another third one I believe. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks Gary
Hey Gary,
Just tell Van's what engine you have (or will have), and they'll get you the right mount. The Dynafocal II mount is pretty rare, and the conical mount is mainly for older engines. All parallel vavle engines use the Dynafocal I mount.
Van's will know though...ask them first for what engine you have, then circle the mount they tell you to on the form.

Re: engine mount type
i did exactly as you want to. o 360 w/ hollow crank. fixed pitch. i will upgrade later. i only did this because i live at sea level and wanted to trim 5k off of the banks portion. very few use dyna 2,or conical mounts. conical engines prdoduce more vibrations and there are fewer of them availiable. conical engines can be machined to dyna 1 however.gsimatos wrote:It is getting time to order up another batch of goodies, specifically the finish and firewall forward kits.
