Rudder/trailing edge holes

Post by CalKid »

Got a bit too aggressive when trying to drill 2 alum angles to sandwich the trailing edge and ended up with some ovaled rudder trailing edge holes. Figure I'll just use the next size rivet (3-4) and chub them up prior to back riveting. How does this sound?

might work, depending on how much oval you got going. or possibly an "oops" rivet.

as a last resort you could try a AN4-4 bolt

Couldnt you fabricate a trailing edge lap repair doubler to cover the hole? Then you could mount a static discharge wick on the repair and tell everyone you did it that way to beef up the area for the wick. :P

I like the way you think. "That's a not a problem, it's a feature."

Building a 9A with too much fuel and too much engine - should drop dead any minute now.
