One left wing

Post by dons »

After 10 months I finally got the main part of the left wing ready for inspection. The bottom skins are left off so the inspector can see all the internals. I'm leaving the tank assembly until I'm ready to proseal both at once.

I wrapped it up, moved most things around, dug a hole to the garage door that hasn't opened in almost two years, pulled off the tape sealing the cracks, and got some help for the first time to move the wing to a storage spot elsewhere in the house.

A couple of sessions later and I had the right wing main ribs riveted to the spars and mounted back in the fixture. It really speeds things up when you have already done all the edge finishing and primer work. While I didn't have the space to build both wings at once, I did quite a bit on both as I built the left one.

Hopefully this one shouldn't take as long to get to the same stage.
