12/16/2006, 3 years ago today, I squeezed my first RV rivet. Time was a premium for me and the family, so I went the Quickbuild route. The thought was I could find 1000-1200hrs over the next 2yrs and have my very own flying machine.

OK I'm normally real good with numbers, but missed the mark here. So for people keeping track, I've managed ~750hrs but spread them over 3yrs and have an estimated 3-400hrs to go, but am trying to stuff it into the next 8 months. New goal is Summer 2010. Should I start a pool for completion day? everybody could pitch in $20 If I make the date I select(including paint) I'll use the money for gas to the RB BBQ.

whew I got a long way to go.

Congrats on the anniversary! Just as a reference mark, I was where you were at 1 1/2 years ago.

BTW, Nice Racks on your wall! Now that's a MANS workshop! I have difference racks on my walls

I noticed the racks right away too!

I just hung my small racks in my new screen porch!

Doh! Guess I better get busy to make next summer!

those racks are some of the nicer 5x5 and 6x6's. the smaller rag horns go on top of the wood shed. My big 6x6 is mounted and in the house waiting for me to build a loghome.<--next project

My 3-year anniversary's coming up, too, Brian, in just a few weeks. Interesting to compare notes. However, I went the standard kit route. You got me thinking about posting an update in a few weeks noting where I'm at by then.

If I had gone standard build, I'd probably be just finishing the wings....maybe.

Way to go Brian! You got some work ahead of ya to cram in to the next eight months, but what else have you got to do in Montana???

On a side note...this shows how little I know about the kind of racks you have on your walls...I immediately went back to look for "bike racks", and then looked at your shelves...before noticing THOSE racks.

I like "bike racks" better...

other to do items in winter Montana. Shovel snow or go hunting. hunting season is over and I minimize snow shoveling, so that leaves wood chopping and airplane building.

no "bike racks" photos in the shop. Grandkids ask to many questions.

You are making good progress Brian. It's good to have a time line, but build it the way you want and let it get done when it's done. I'm about 3 1/2 years in on a standard build and just putting together the fuselage tail now.
