Brackets and why non standard mods adds time

Post by hydroguy2 »

So I thought I needed plenum break and figured the throttle quadrant and cables will only take a couple hours. Short Recap for those not paying attention: I decided to go with a left side throttle quadrant and also went with a Superior forward sump with AFP injection. Of course nothing fits per Vans

First I had to fab a bracket to hold the mixture and throttle cables in the proper orientation and ensure they don't hit each other or the exhaust. Also the bracket has to clear the exhaust. This bracket took about 8 hrs from start to finish, only had to redo it twice.

The throttle quadrant was a thrill a minute. Put it on, take it off, run the cables, oops too short, wait for new cable, drill the firewall in the wrong place, etc. I probably have 20hrs getting this mounted and all the cables playing nice together.

I feel for you buddy. It seems like you take 3 steps forward and 2 back sometimes.
