Avionics access upper skin F771

Post by timotb »

Anyone have a good reference to securing the upper skin F771 just aft of the fire wall on a 7a tip up for easy access to avionics? Two ports on top will likely be too small to reach the outboard sides. I'm thinking about 1/4 turn lock screws to attach the entire skin. Ideas?

camloc fasteners

To rephrase: Has anyone used camloc fasteners (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/ha/ ... amloc.html)
to attach the entire F771 skin? How did it turn out?

Someone was just suggesting that I attach that skin with screws earlier today. My thought is that the fwd top skin is structural, and you would weaken the structure considerably by not riveting that skin in place.

I think you may be right about the structural issue, Besides the more I look at this, it would be difficult to attach the left and right sides using camloc fasteners.
