-8 rudder or -9 rudder?

Post by captain_john »

Hey, just a crazy thought here. After reading what these guys are saying over there...

http://www.vansairforce.com/community/s ... hp?t=91774

I am thinking of installing my little rudder instead of building the new bigger one.

What do you think?

Am I nuts?

...errrrr I mean, you know!

Should I bother making the -9 rudder and installing it?

What's your take?

After reading that, seems the only reason for the bigger rudder is for better knife edge flight during your ribbon cuts. Just save yourself time and stick with your little rudda!

Well, that is what I was thinking too!

Besides it would make a good experiment to boot!

See how differently the plane flies compared to machine man's and see if the reduced tail-featherage increases speed at all.

I really doubt it will matter much. Nevertheless it will make my plane different from the rest. It will look almost "6 like", if you will!
