Folks,
In an effort not to create bad vibes. In your opinion, which seats are best (biggest bang for the buck). Those who use their RVs for travel, do you wish you did anything differently. If you have a head rest, do you find it useful or in the way?
I've looked at Cleaveland, Flightline and Classic. I'm leaning toward the Aviator seats. I can't swing their full interior, but can probably get their nice seats plus their starter interior package.
Just wondering what your opinions are since you guys are actually flying.
Then there is the leather, fake leather or cloth debate. Again, opinion and pros/cons.
Just looking for help in making a decision based on others direct experience.
Thanks in advance,
Joe
Interior/seat choices
Re: Interior/seat choices
Hi Joe,
I went the cheap route and used Van's foam and got them locally covered in fabric. The Van's foam has a lot to be desired - it definitely isn't the most comfortable option, and my back always looks forward to getting out of the plane after a few hour trip. I tried the Oregon Aero seats at Sun 'n Fun this year and found their foam much more comfortable.
As far as the Leather/Pleather/Fabric argument goes, I am a big Fabric fan. After 500 hours and stepping on the seats everything I get in and out of the airplane, my seats still look great. I would be hesitant of the wear involved with the leather being stepped on if not properly protected while getting in and out of the plane.
If I had to do it all over again, I would get nicer foam and keep the fabric.

+1 on the Oregon Aero foam. It is sooo comfortable. After flying all day, you don't want to get out of the seat.
I had Abby at Flightline cover them in Ultraleather and she did an outstanding job finding the colors we wanted and they turned out great. Ultraleather is synthetic, but very durable. No problem stepping on them getting in and out of the airplane.

Re: Interior/seat choices
Looks like I am Goldilocks here with the Classic Aero Seats.
I have flown on the stock Vans cushions in the RV 6, and did buy them for the 7. When it came time to fly the 7, I just pulled the trigger on the Classic Aero ones because it was simpler and I wanted the carpets as well.
Sooooo glad I did! They are VERY comfortable and I could NEVER have made a finer seat myself.
I have sat in them for several hours at a time and never been uncomfortable.
The company was great to deal with and I will certainly buy from them again when these begin to look shabby.

Thanks CJ. I opted and pulled the trigger for the classic aero seats as well. Comfort for the wife is important. Thank you for your insight
Re: Interior/seat choices
I'm a bit biased, I have Aerosport Products seats.
I would give Geoff or Zac a call. They have a computer program that can facilitate all kinds of custom designs to meet your requirements. They do more than what's on the web site.
