Baggage Door Latch Pin

Post by RobDob »

Hi Gents

Quick question; is the material for the baggage door latch pin & latch blocks provided in the kit or do you have to source it yourself? If its supplied I can't find it!!

Many thanks!!

Hey Ron...can't say for sure since I don't have an 8, but the latch hardware for the oil door isn't included in the kits, and I would assume the same would be true for the baggage door because of variants of latch types used by builders. Probably doesn't help tho!

The rods that pin into the blocks and the blocks are included. The only hardware item you need to purchase is the lock. There is also a couple of small pieces you have to fabricate from the aluminum stock.

I think it's all part of the finish kit, except for the lock, which you can get from any Lowes or Home Depot.

Yep, it comes in the kit, without the actual lock.

It is one of the last items, after the forward skin is on, and windscreen in place.

Thanks guys; searched high & low and the parts were missing so ordered from Vans. Already have the lock with the mag switch so I'll get it all finished when the bits arrive.

Cheers
