Wing/gear fairings for -8

I'm doing the wing root fairings on a -8. Somewhere I read an article regarding a 'strake' styled fairing that allows for better airflow over the wing root area, does anyone recall seeing such an article? Or does antone have a good design for fairing the gear/wing area?
