Infinity Control Grip

Post by Fred Fagan »

I am installing the Infinity Grip on the pilots side only of my RV-9. I am asking for help from RV builders that have done this in their RV-7 or 9. My question is where did you drill the hole in the base of the control stick to eliminate binding in the movement of the stick, and I am also installing the relay board from Infinity with the stick. Where and how did you install this board? It is a very tight area for the board to be installed in.

Thank you for your help

Before rushing to install the Infinity grip on your control stick you may want to make sure that it doesn't need to be shortened by about an inch and a half. My tech counselor who is also a DAR suggested that I shorten of my control sticks about 11/2" Currently the sticks will make contact with the bottom of the instrument panel. Especially if you have your thumb on top of it to key the mic. Yes both of my control sticks are wired for push to talk switches and they work. I think I can still cut them down but it would have been easier before I installed them.

Bob
Tanks for the info, I have the grip mounted now and have about 1 1/2" clearence from the bottom of the panel as you suggested. Installed the Relay board and wiring and it looks good. Now unto the Antennas and running wiring back to the Tail Strobe and Elevator trim.

Thanks
Fred RV9, moving on

Hey Fred, Check out Jason Rouault's site.

Here is a link to his Infinity Stick install.

Oooops, not quite as direct as I expected.

Navigate to the tool bar on the left, click finishing then misc. interior and you will see the right page.
