Building skill & time for a 10QB vs. the 7QB

The RV-10 plans include drawings of the subsection that the instructions are referring to integrated with the text. At the beginning of each section there is an 11x17 drawing of everything to be completed in that manual section. An example is that there will be a manual section dedicated to the rudder. First page of the section will show a drawing of the entire rudder. Remaining pages of the section will have "zoomed in" drawings in context with a set of specific instructions.

It's probably a good idea and seems very organized! I still plan to ask Van's if I can buy a set ahead of time. They may be resisting because they think I'm going to fab the whole thing...

I noticed another RV-10 builder's site that has pictures of all of the plans pages. They're too small to read the text but you'll certainly have a good feel for the approach taken.
