Wanted: Good Lycoming Rebuilt IO-360

Post by timotb »

I’m getting ready to order the finish kit for my RV7a, so I have to decide on an engine first. I believe a good Lycoming rebuilt or equivalent 200hp IO360 is the way to go. Not sure which configuration is best. Anyone know any good suppliers of rebuilds? NE Ohio. No prop strike engines. Tim

There's a guy I used a few years back when I needed an engine for my Grumman 2 seater. It had a lowly 108 hp O-235 in it, and I wanted to upgrade the Grumman to the STC'd 160 hp O320. He was one of the few out there that found and rebuilt a used engine for me. He did a really nice overhaul, and the engine ran great, and never burned any oil.

The above info is from 2002 when I had the Grumman engine overhauled.
Not sure if he's still at the same address or not, but give him a try.

Dave, I didn't know about that place. It does appear to still be in business as Brighton is in our phone book and the company is still listed. They are only about 45 miles from me. Small world.

Have AERO ship me the ECI parts and I'll build you a new one.
