Engine is going back together!

Post by cjensen »

I got my order of all new hardware and seals/gaskets this weekend, so we started the process of reassembling the engine last night. I had my A&P bud, a photographer (me), and a videographer (YEP!) on hand to document the process. Here are a couple of shots from last night...

I wanted the pistons pulled to make the rings were installed properly...they were...

Two cylinders on...

Rockers and push rods going in...

Almost fully assembled (we didn't get the oil return lines or the intake tubes on)...

The lighting is terrible in there...

Tonight we'll get it finished up, and ready to preserve!

WOW, that looks great!

Is there anyone else out there that is having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that Chad is actually posting pictures of his engine??? :o

Chad,

Looks great! Did you look at the option of a 90 degree oil filter mount? I have one on my engine and it sure makes it easy to change the filter.

That's one thing I'm certain of! We talked about how the rings are to be positioned, how the piston goes in, etc...Done right! 8)

Hehe! This is the color I envisioned from the very start! The I got sidetracked, then came back, then strayed again, then came back, then flip-flopped, then came back, then weathervaned, then came back...

I'm still considering it. I will have a bit more room behind the engine since I have the 320 mount tho, so it may not be so bad... :dunno: yet.
