P Mag question

Post by simatos »

Dumb question for the day. For P Mag users: which position on the "distributor cap" is for the number one wire/cylinder????

im thinking firing order is 1-3-2-4 and direction of rotation of P mag would be counterclockwise. sound right??? viewed from the back

the labeling on the back of the p mag looks ambiguous to me, Thanks G

The P-mags fire 1 and 2 together, then 3 and 4 together. It is a "wasted" spark firing. It fires on both the compression stroke and the exhaust stroke of the 4 cycle engine for each cylinder.

Seems like a weird way to do it but I understand what you mean. Thanks for the clarification, Cheers G
