Anyone install an IO-240 (125 HP) in an RV-9/9A?
Just curious. I'm considering building an RV-9A, and thought the IO-240 would be a good engine given the low fuel burn (7 GPH) with the 36 gallon tanks. That would give you 5 hours flying time without reserves. Also, it would be lighter (240 LBS) compared to the IO-320 (278 LBS).
The IO-320 (150/160 HP) would be faster, but would lose an hour of flying time with the higher fuel burn of the bigger engine (9 GPH).
Anyone have any flight speeds for the IO-240 in the RV-9/9A?
Thanks,
Charlie

Please do not cross post to different forums. Ill leave the one in the RV-9 forum open as that is the most logical place for the thread. Welcome to the group by the way!
