I had to tighten mine up when I filled the tanks. Just be sure to loosen the bottom nut then turn the lower part of the cap in a little to tighten the rubber seal. I think I almost threw it away befotre I figured out that the bottom part of the cap is threaded! The nut is for safety purposes!
