No, I am not a high time pilot, but that is all they wanted. I have about 250 TW and 425 TT. Whe we bought our C-180 a couple years ago, they only wanted one hour of dual.
The company originally wanted 2 hours in a RV 8 with either a RV8 owner or a CFI. We were able to convince them to do time in a 6 or seven, because of the dual controls and the ability to find one to rent for instruction. I still plan on going up with a friend that has an 8 to do some flying before I fly my 8.
If my 8 is like the 6, they are a blast to fly, and very easy to handle. The biggest problem I had was that I was trying to flare at C-180 height, which turns out to be about 2 feet higher than RV6 height

The RV seems like it will be easier to handle than the 180, mainly because of the control response.
