Canopy Frame Question

Post by RobDob »

Evening everyone

I have a question regarding my '8 canopy frame which is now largely fitted. The plans show a 'canopy mid retention block' for holding the canopy half open, and says to make from .188 UHMW block. Is this contained in the kit or do I need to source from elsewhere? If it's in the kit I can't find it in the box or on the packing list!

Thanks for any help!

I don't think I saw the plastic in the kit either. Their retention block didn't look like it would do much, and I've never actually seen one installed. I installed a small retractable pin that I could engage or disengage depending on whether or not I wanted the midpoint stop.

I don't think I have seen that block on any 8's.

Just joined this site. Am a new owner of a beautiful -8 built by Jeff Tompkins of Grants Pass, OR. I just installed one of these: http://www.vansairforce.com/community/s ... php?t=7745 and it works like a champ!! I installed it on the right hand side though. Took about 1 hour and 2 beers. :)
