Wing jacks
Hi All,
Check out these wing jacks I welded up tonight for eliminating the "drooping" in the center of the wing during skinning.
As my students at school would say, "These things are DIESEL"!
Wyatt hid in the opposite corner of the garage while I welded them. He came out and inspected the welds later. They met his approval!
Tomorrow, I anchor them to the floor directly underneath the aileron pushrod hole in the rear spar. I plan on placing a nut and washer on each side of the rear spar, securing it firmly.

Forget the jacks, Wyatt's a real cutie.

Hahahaha,
He says, "Thank you"!
He is a HIGH MAINTENANCE little goober! Alotta fun to have around, though. He loves JEEP rides and I hope he enjoys the plane as much. I think he will. I would like to take him to fly-ins and different places as much as possible.
I chose the -7 so he would fit in the baggage compartment, but I think he will prefer the right seat!

Just how much does he love to fly? Wonder if he would dig the zero G thing those guys did with the dog in that "Flying Buddy" video?
Anyhow, great idea on the jack. I am still debating (since my wings won't be here until June) to build the wing jigs. Do you have plans or did you just wing it?

I haven't had him "airborne" yet. I think he won't find it much different than the JEEP. He settles in VERY well and has NEVER gotten sick.
...as far as the maneuvers in the video, well I don't think I would do that to him. A 50 lb. roast beef floating around inside an RV cabin doesn't sound like much fun to me!
But, I may just make him a tad on the light side just to see his expression. He has alot of expressions! This is a very interactive breed. They are very inquisitive, by nature.
...re: the wing jig stuff
I am flying by the seat of my pants, but I think it is coming out SUBSTANTIAL and SECURE!
I have kind of taken ideas from others, applied my own needs to the design and worked it into my garage. Basically it is just like all the others but a little different! Hahahaha
I will have some new pics for you soon.

Hahaha, Jeep TJ here as well!
I LOVE that JEEP!
I have a subtle 2" lift and 31's on factory Canyon 8" rims. I goes EVERYWHERE I ask. Plymouth beach, the woods of Maine, tows my boat and sled... you name it!
But ahhhh, on a sad note... On January 14, 2004, the BEST dog in the world had come to pass.
Orion, my 11.5 year old Golden Retriever and very close personal friend died of cancer.
He would, like Wyatt go with me most places. When I went to the airport without him, everyone would ask about his whereabouts. This was especially painful the first time I visited after his passing.
I expect that Wyatt will fill his collar nicely, but they are so different!
How old is your Golden? They are very devoted friends!

I love my JEEP as well. Probably will never own another vehicle!
Our Golden is turning 2 on May 18th. Just a pup. My wife is really into obiedience training, and is working hard with him, even as I type this. She wants to show him. He is such a GREAT friend.
I am sorry to hear of your loss, that's tough, no matter who you are. They do become such close friends.

I'll post pics later today. They are on my desktop at the house. Actually, how to we post pics here?
I thought real hard about getting the Rubicon, but I ended up with the X for simplicity, but still got the 4.0L Six. The Rubi's that I looked at were a little too "nice" for my tastes. I didn't want all the stuff that came with it, though the standard wheel and tire package looks great. I don't have anything special on mine, but I'll post a pic of the JEEP, my last Cherokee, and me in front of my hanger after returning from Oshkosh last summer.
I see the Img* button up there, but how does this work?

There is a whole set of threads in the "support forum" on how to post images and such ....
Interesting conversations about dogs and such ... and I thought we put the board up for talking about RV building

Thanks spike,
Sorry...as soon as I post my pics, it's back to the star of the forum. One of my pics will have an airplane in it though...not an RV, but...

I see you got your pics up! Cool!
I like Wiley, he is VERY RED, huh!
The "X" is cool too!
I got my PPL in a 180 D model! A great choice in Cherokees! Trim on the floor, 6 pack instruments and lots of power! A real 4 person plane! It does drop like a Coke machine with power off, though!
Cool! Glad to see you got picture posting figured out!
