Re: RIP Co-Pilot Wyatt
What a neat idea and video to show it. Good job, I wish I had thought of that years ago.
The video reminded of the time I spread my dad's ashes over Mt. Washington in a 172. I slowed the airspeed, opened the window and shook the ashes out.
What I didn't think of at the time... was the bone fragments in the ashes that bead blasted the paint off the horizontal stab.
Did you record the lat, long, so you can plot it later?
Steve

Re: RIP Co-Pilot Wyatt
Steve, That was only a test. I still have the remains. The weather in Rangeley this past Saturday didn't support the mission.
We are planning now for Independence Day for a Plan "B". Maybe you would like to join us? Your plane might be done by then!?! If not, bring the Aeronca and spend the weekend with us. I plan to be up there for the night. I have lots of room and will put up as many people as I can.

Re: RIP Co-Pilot Wyatt
I'll put it on my calendar. RV may be flying, I hope. Just finished up the G3X, G5, and GTN625 coupled to the VP-X. All the wires, switches and lights are working as as advertised. CHT's and EGTs show temps with a heat gun test. Engine is wired and ready to run once it gets to the airport.
Next step is to add a couple of defrost fans to the canopy shelf above the panel.
I installed heat and insulated my hangar, so when I take it to KCON to install the wings and tail it will be easier to work in comfort.
I may put out a call for help sometime in late April or May to watch over me and make sure I don't drill holes in the wrong areas of rear longerons for the tail, and help installing the wings and setting the incidence.

Independence Day! How fitting is that...I may see what I can do to get us out there!

Re: RIP Co-Pilot Wyatt
CJ, just upon this thread, glad to have met Wyatt the day I met you. Good dogs are easy to find, but cool dogs are hard to come by. We put down our good dog earlier last year, and then our cool dog on Christmas Eve. Tough year.
Re: travelling light, I have been informed by my Captain that we don't get another dog until we are 80, now that the kids are out of the house.
Two boxes on the mantel, I'll have to talk to the family, but at least one of them may need Vlad's asssitance.

I hope that we get a big crowd! All are welcome and overflow can stay at the bed and breakfast.
Maybe we can do a missing dog formation for your pup too?

First dog rode in my RV today!
30 min flight went well but I think she needs a hearing protection. Any ideas on dog's headsets?

My little dog was born deaf, so he is quite happy in a noisy airplane, and no hearing protection required!
As long as he has a lap to sit in, he's happy.

No dog until 80?! This is why I'm not married to a dream killer. I recently adopted a Great Pyrenees (see Leandra puppies on Google). I can't imagine life without a dog, they are one of the best things in life.
Re: RIP Co-Pilot Wyatt
There may be cracks in the 'not until 80' timeline. Recent text she sent to my daughter, highlighted with a pointer:paulie wrote:No dog until 80?! This is why I'm not married to a dream killer. Hope so. If you want a really sweet big dog check out Great Pyrenees Rescue Atlanta. They come in large to very large.

Re: RIP Co-Pilot Wyatt
So, it looks like this is going to happen on Tuesday, July 4,2017!
The arrivals will begin on Sunday and as many people who can fit into my house are welcome! Please bring a sleeping bag and a towel. I have everything else.
Wyatt deserves a grand sendoff!
See you all soon!

Russki, yes! Your toothbrush is still there!
I also installed the reciever bracket under my wing as a failsafe option.
Joe, you will enjoy taking the pups with you. They usually fly well.
I am loaded and ready to go in the morning. I am going to hit the gym at 5am, come back to the airport, get into the plane, pick up Desiree in Providence and head up! Might stop for breakfast along the way. I should be in Rangeley a bit before 10 am.

The Mission was accomplished today. CJ will post a video and tell the story. Wyatt ashes were scattered over Rangeley Lake between two islands. Launching ship arrival at 8B0 airport.
CJ is doing the honors of placing the ashes.
Rejoining three ships for a "Missing Dog" flight.
