Just another run, but I tried raspberry poppyseed cake for the first time, and it was delicious! If you're a fan of the color green, you would have loved the route today – the amount of green was incredible. There was quite a bit of wind today, and I estimated burning around 3500 calories.

The food at Mazu made me happy.

Slept hard, woke up late feeling great, shipped some parts and started the printers to make some parts, and decided to ride the bike since the weather was clearing. I planned for 45 miles but was feeling good so I extended to 80. A headwind for 40 miles, then a tailwind. :)

I added another ridge protector to the middle because sometimes I try to install the tow bar backwards. It moved on me some during setup, that is why you should always tape them in place.

Not much air traffic today, but a nice looking RV4 4-pipe parked beside me.

The ladies stopped me a showed me a fawn sleeping by the trail. They covered almost as many miles as I did on their e-bikes.

On the way out, another Cirrus making a long straight in approach. I am not sure why they do that on a perfectly good VFR day. Fly the pattern as it allows for multiple benefits.

Replaced the failed bottom bracket on the Zizzo mountain trail bike. I moved one from the Zizzo speedster and upgraded the one that came off. I had to adjust the shims to get a nice fit and added a custom-printed spacer. The upgraded bottom bracket features reduced friction seals, upgraded bearings, and is lighter. I am working my way to a planned 100+ mile ride in June.

I feel like I’m getting a bit faster on the bike. Weaving around clouds on the way home.

Read all thread with great interest thanks for motivation Steve! I had a folding bike a decade ago sold it in favor of hiking. Now thinking of getting it back :)

It was a perfect weather day, and the mostly flat course allowed me to really stretch my legs. I was trying to find my distance limit on the bike, but I never found it—I simply ran out of daylight. I knew it was going to be a good day when my airplane parking was almost perfect, and it is incredibly convenient that the donut shop connects directly to the bike trail.

A strong rider on a Cervélo I met at Xenia Station headed in the same direction on the OTET quickly left me in the dust. I passed several bikepacking groups along the way, and they all seemed to be having a great time. London, Ohio, has some beautiful murals and a lovely shade garden. I stopped at the M&M Cafe and Mazu on the way back and really enjoyed it.

I kept a steady stream of carbs going each hour, paired with plenty of water and electrolytes. My hangar neighbor recommended increasing my electrolyte intake, and he was spot on—the left leg cramps I’ve experienced around mile 80 on previous rides never developed. A beautiful RV-8 was parked beside me when I returned, which was the perfect way to cap off the day.

I noticed there was no air traffic before 7:00 AM, which is unusual for such a busy airspace.

The oil is at 100 hours, so it's time for a change before some upcoming long flights.

Sophisticated Summer (Downtempo Lounge Version) the lyrics are smooth!
