I agree with this line of thinking. A Spray bottle with soapy water will show an air leak if you have one.

I'm concerned you might damage the tank by trying to apply force to submerge it. I realize your not going to try and get it entirely under water, but still.... Also, what do you think the chemicals in the pool will do to the tank ? Not sure if chlorine is a good thing for it.

If your really worried about it, why not just take it down to the airport and fill it with 100LL. Then if you have no leaks, you can just drive over to my hangar and fill up the 4 and we'll go for some rides ;)
