Congrats on a big milestone! That red engine mount really sets it all off. You and some of the others here are a great inspiration and example for some of us who are about a year behind you. I'm almost finished with my wings; fuse kit is inventoried and waiting for me.
I have had the gear on my RV-6A for four or five years. I hung the engine on 12/11/05. Since then I have completed the engine hook up with a couple of minor exceptions. I have done the baffeling and fitted both upper and lower cowl. Most of 2007 involved wiring the Instrument panel and installing the instrument. I did not put the boot cowl on permantly until mid-March of 2008. Therefore I had relatively good access to the back of the instrument panel until then. I have a three foot step ladder that I have used to get in and out of the cockpit. My workshop is to small to have the wings installed. Therefore they are already at the airport painted and waiting for me to finish the fiber glass work on the windscreen and making the cowl look pretty. I hope to get that done next week! Then it goes to the paint shop and to the airport for final assembley.

All you;ve got to do is make a platform out of wood to get to your panel easily. Just don't bugger your nice fusealge. Good wiring is a problem for most folks.
