Where is Scott's Coyote?
Someone who put in a few hours a day could get this thing done in no time at all. I would say about one year tops. I only get 30 min to an hour a day (if that). It's just a really easy kit to put together.
If anyone else wants to build a $100 LRI I have the info on my site. None of it is my idea, just stuff I found on other websites. It's here: http://airprayer.net/cm/?page_id=387
Now I'm finishing off the windshield, then the cowling, then it's off to the airport so I have room to build the wings.

For better or worse the panel is done! Here it is with the glare shield installed. I still need to make labels. I won't need too many.

Here is a Kuntzleman landing light installed on the front of the engine. It may be partially occluded by the cowling once it's installed but I think there may be enough light to land by. I can tweak the position a little if needed. The only problem I can foresee is possible cooling issues. I'll keep a close eye on that.
Here is how it's installed.

Here is how it will look once the cowling is installed.

And here's video of the Aveo nav lights and my landing light.

I was more worried about it blocking airflow. Probably nothing to worry about there. The other cowl inlet is completely taken up by the oil cooler. As to the temperature of the landing light, I can touch it with no discernible sizzling sound.

I can see it now, Scott looks at the airspeed indicator, sees that its indicating 75 knots, and then gets confused because the throttle *is* to the firewall.
Great progress Scott!!

I was simply guessing that the light housing expects to shed some heat to what it is mounted to, and after the engine has been running a while that mounting surface might be quite warm, maybe not, I just don't know that engine and how warm the mounting point might be.svanarts wrote:I was more worried about it blocking airflow. I sure like how fast you are moving through this project.

I have the windshield on and was about to rivet it in but I decided to wait until the wings are done. That way I can match the windshield/skylight profile to the wings. I guess the next step is finish up the cowling, and it's 90% done. Spray on some UV protectant for the fabric and then build the wings. That's pretty much all there is to be done.

I can hope they will go quick. You've been there so you should know. I do want to clear coat the fuse before I move it out of the garage. I should have that done in a week or two. That's assuming I tie up all the loose ends in the fuse tomorrow.

Moving day!
Loading up on my buddy Dennis' low-boy trailer. Dennis is the official airplane transporter for EAA Chapter 90 and this is the second plane for me he has moved.

Driving out to the airport. The almonds are blooming and the valley looks gorgeous right now.

Here's the Coyote at her new home: hangar 108 at O27!

There are also a bunch more pictures of the transport here: http://picasaweb.google.com/svanarts/N612SV#

Port-A-Port!

HEY!
That is a Port-A-Port hangar just like mine!
I insulated and heated mine. I will get some pics of it this summer when Bill H's -6 is flying.
Cool hangars!!! Someone should start selling those again! They would sell like hotcakes to RV builders!!!
