If you buy a kit from someone, just make sure they transfer the builder number to you. I think it only takes a letter from the seller to Van's.

Thanks for the reminder, Paul! I did just that when I bought my empennage. A guy in RI was selling it and claimed to be doing a -10 instead. I haven't been able to talk to him and have never heard of him starting the -10 project.
