Hi there:
I'm in the process of moving the RV Builder's Hotline over to the Expercraft server, and today I started playing with the Google custom search engine.
I've set up a RV-specific Google search here
http://rvhotline.expercraft.com/articles/search.html , that currently searches the Hotline archives, VAF, VAF forums, Matronics,myrv10.com, rvproject.com, Rivetbangers and a few others.
Still some bugs to work out, but I'd like to add other sites, and the page allows for collaborators to add their sites and help build it (have to have a Google account, I think). And the code is also provided there if folks want to use it on their own sites.
If you'd like to collaborate, go here:

I think this could be a good and useful tool to continue aggregating RV information across the far-flung universe.
There's still some bugs to be worked out and I haven't really started on the annotations yet, but I do see this as a way to quickly find RV-related information across some of the best RV Web sites out there.

Looks like Bob Collins is cooking up some good stuff. Found this on VAF:

Dangit, I forgot to post that here too. But, frankly, I was a little scared about cross-postings.
Some folks who tried to install it on their Expercraft log sites had trouble, cuz of the way the program translates inputted text. But Rob Riggen said he'd work with anybody to get in on there.
Still doing some fine tuning in the way of annotations and such (ex: you can filter results by Forum-News-Products-Articles and -- I THINK -- I can further refine them by, for example -- names of individual forums. Haven't had a chance to play with it enugh yet.

Please dont be. From our perspective the more information we can get out to the community the better, regardless of the avenue. While the differing sites have memberships that overlap, a good portions dont.RVNewsletter wrote:...But, frankly, I was a little scared about cross-postings....
Feel free to post that type of info here!
