Today I got to thinking about what we should do when our planes are done.

These planes are travelling planes and to have an occasional "Destination" trip would be cool!

Bring your wife/friend and dog (if applicable) to a predetermined location for a weekend or wee visit to a place. Maine in the late summer, Florida in the winter, Cape Cod in the spring, Lost Wages anytime of the year... you get the idea!

I would gladly coordinate these types of things. The summer ones would be my specialty, as school will be out of session.

If we went to Maine, we could hook up with Dan Drexler in Rangeley and do the Seaplane thing. Ya know?

There are these nice cottages lakeside adjacent to the seaplane base and the landplane base is right up the hill.

Good idea?

Now GET BUILDIN'!

Cool!

Guys, ya know... I see what they are doing out on the left coast and it sure looks like ALOTTA fun!

We need to do the same thing out here. Of course there are a LOT fewer completed units around here so, we a slow on the uptake. Soon, we will have a fleet!

In case you didn't know, Wicked Stick just picked up a NICE -4 with a couple of local friends!

Congrats to them!!! It looks great!

Pics to follow!

My wife and I flew our RV-6 to North Bend, Oregon yesterday to see if perhaps some friends were there. They weren't, so we decided go about 100 miles up the coast and get lunch at a good little deli at Pacific City. The airport there is a 1600' narrow runway right in the middle of the town. As we arrived, we were number three behind a pair of RV-8s arriving from the valley. Of the ten or so airplanes in the parking area, 5 were RVs. It just happens that way pretty often in this area.

That is a beautiful bird!! Congrats WS.

Why wait on our planes to be finished though? I say we can start doing that now! As a matter of fact CJ and i were talking about this the other day. We should start doing flying meets or some such.

Hey, anyone been to the new air and space museum at Dulles? If not its pretty cool. Fly out to FDK, stay at my house (we have plenty of room) and we can have a group spend the day at the museum!
