Rowd, I know this may sound crazy, but take off all the housing and safety guards on the side you mount the wheel. I have found the outside part of the scothbrite works great on finishing longer parts.

Oh yeah, do that at your own risk. Make sure you wear gloves and safety goggles when using it like this. Also, those disposable masks are nice to have when grinding. Sorry to sound gross here, but if you don't wear one, you will be blowing black crud out of your nose.

I can't help but wonder, is that black stuff gonna hurt us in any way?

Cancer? Alzheimers? Hemhorroids?

Clear Air has 6"X1" deburring wheels for $42

http://clearairtools.com/Merchant2/merc ... de=A6x1-6S

they are not the cut and polish wheels but are deburring wheels. I don't have any wheels as of yet, so don't know which ones work best :?

CAUTION!

That Clear Air wheel has a 1" arbor! You will likely need a reducer bushing in order to use it!

I would just stick with the one CJ listed above from Cleaveland. I have talked to a couple builders who managed to make it through the complete build with just one scotchbrite wheel. I am done with my empennage and the didn't notice that much wear on it.

CP-7AM equivalent?

Post by rowd »

Anyone had any experience with a product made by Merit abrasives ?
Brown Tools have a part #93205 which they claim is in every way equal to the CP-7AM and which they supply for $43
