They say that you should make hay while the sun shines. Well, the sun finally shone this weekend. I spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday helping my Father out on the farm. Most of it was spent going in circles around one field or another.
Heh, I should have pretended I was flying a traffic pattern, or that I got put in a holding pattern
Just got back from a 2 day trip with Dad. We flew the plane out to Dayton and spent a whole day touring the Air Force Museum. What a totally engrossing experience. Got back in early this morning. I highly recommend that trip to everyone. B2's, B1's, F22's, X15's, etc, its all there. What a joint!
As for building and the rest of the weekend, I think that I am going to use this time to get some building done. Work has been a bit involved lately and this will be a great opportunity to catch up and hopefully get most of that last elevator knocked out. Can't wait to get to those wings.
Other than that I am just going to vegetate.

Current Build: 2 years into a beautiful little girl
When I first saw photos of Wiley I thought he was about the niceest looking golden I have ever seen. Yeager is gonna give him a run for the money! Nicely done!!

Thanks CD! Brit spent over two months searching for the right breeder, and with the help of our kennel club, we found him in Neosho, Wisconsin (four hours drive one-way).
This will be Brit's obedience and agility dog (Wiley is working on some of this as well), and she will take care of him most of the time so I can keep working on the airplane. I just get to be "dad" and play with him!
You had to be only a few miles from my place passing through!
We are putting on an addition so the plane has been on hold while we work on the home project. I have not been active on the Rivet Banger web site other than to check in off and on. Hopefully after OSH we will be nearing completion and I can move into the NEW WORKSHOP. Photos to follow.
This fourth of July has been spent on the addition, building a new outbuilding, putting in a new mound system...all things other than aviation.
I hope to run into some of the rivetbangers at OSH. Will have my hat by then...just confirmed shipment!
Happy Fourth to all!!!

Spent the weekend working some more on my elevator. Replacing the one with the cracked trailing edge. We went to a minor league game last night to watch fireworks and to day we're going to stay home and set off our safe and sane fireworks with the neighbors.
Also this morning celebrated our country's independence in the best way possible, I flew my RV-4 all over the county! No better way to celebrate freedom than engaging in the freedom of flight!

Chad I can't belive you have TWO Goldens in your house now!!! Those puppy whines will be hard resist even if your wife is doing "all" the training!

THAT sounds like a great weekend Peter!!
Yeah, two goldens!! He is adorable (just as cute as Wiley was when he was this age)! I did get some work done today on the plane, but I went out to the airport to do it. I had to break the seal on my left fuel tank because for some stupid reason, I thought it was neccesary to put a thick AL washer between the bulkhead fitting and the rib for the flop tube. That gave me like three threads to get the B nut on to hold the fuel line, which of course, won't work. I had to take the access plate off, and pry the washer out of the sealant it was sitting in. Then I resealed the fitting and nut, and then the access plate again.
Anyway, it's done and curing again. Better to be right than to try and cover the problem with the wrong solution.

Great, so far! The little guy just follows Wiley EVERYWHERE, so I'm sure he is a little annoyed. He is handling it MUCH better than I anticipated!
I actually think he really likes Yeager, but he's "the older, wiser" one now, so he acts like it bothers him. He lets Yeager walk all over him. We've heard a couple of small little growls from Wiley, but it was just to let Yeager know where the line is. Wiley is so gentle with puppies.
