Tanks checked out!!!

Post by captain_john »

Well, no pics. I do have an update, though!

I did the submersion test in my buddy's pool this morning. I pressurized them with the bicycle pump and regulated the pressure with a latex balloon. I then commenced to submerge them.

I am pleased to announce that beyond and reasonable doubt, I HAVE NO LEAKS!!!

:yay: :drink: :D :mcd: :spit: :lmao:

This is turning point, literally! I can now attach the tanks to the spar permanently and flip them into the cradle which I made during the week last week.

I am thrilled!!!

Great news CJ! Glad to hear there are no leaks. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I have one tank done now and hopefully will get the next one done next weekend. It is a little messy but overall not that bad. I sure hope we test out leak free whe nwe get to that point. How long did you wait before testing?

Ummm I waited until it was warm enough to go into the pool!

I was "done" with my tanks about 8 months ago and only bubble tested them with soapy water, but this "second" test made me feel fully confident in bolting them onto the spar without any doubts.

pool?

CJ, Did this pool have chlorine (plus all those other chemicals) in it? I'd be concerned with jump-starting the corosion process after a submersion in that stuff. But then again, I'm really new at all of this. -Jim

It did, but I hosed it all off afterward. After that, I wiped it down with Coleman Fuel.

Thanks for the input!
